Kamloops, BC – February 24, 2023 – A feasibility report has now been completed for the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission (TNFC) in regards to site servicing for a potential film studio in the Thompson-Nicola region.
The feasibility study was conducted for the TNFC by Kamloops-based company Allnorth Consultants, which was chosen to conduct the study following a Request for Proposal process in 2022. The feasibility study compares four potential properties that could house a purpose-built motion picture film studio. The study analyzed four properties within industrial and commercial zones, including three in Kamloops (in Dallas, Campbell Creek, and on Sugarloaf Road), and one on Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc industrial land near CN Road.
This feasibility study will be be provided to potential film studio developers and investors as an aid to determine potential development requirements and costs.
The report was presented during the TNRD Committee of the Whole Meeting on February, 24, 2023. This report was done following a Motion Picture Studio Business Case, which was completed for the TNFC in December 2021.
