Kamloops Film Society
The Kamloops Film Society's mission "is to bring the best in independent, Canadian and foreign cinema to Kamloops. We endeavour to promote and support film and related visual media in the Kamloops area by offering grants three times each year of up to $500.00”.
KFS films are presented at the Kamloops Paramount Theatre - approximately one every three months.
Kamloops Film Festival
The Kamloops Film Festival is held annually at the Kamloops Paramount Theatre in March and takes place over 6 - 7 days. There are opening and closing receptions and special guest speakers (director or actor) usually attend one or two films.
Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Film Competition
The Kamloops Independent Short Shorts Film Competition (KISS) is open to all filmmakers and is presented by the Kamloops Film Society.
KISS is held in conjunction with the annual Kamloops Film Festival.
The KFS provides several awards.
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District offers two prizes of $150 each.
Awarded to the project that best depicts TNRD-based locations, attractions, people or event in a compelling and evocative way;
A lottery - open to all participants - all you have to do is submit a short film to be eligible.
