FREE 3-Day Filmmaking Workshop for Youth & Young Adults

Workshop is delivered by Reel 2 Real Celebration of Moving Images for Youth Society and Kamloops’ Mastermind Studios with funding from Telus Storyhive

Filmmaking workshop for youth & young adults ages 16 - 24 years old Kamloops, BC.

A maximum of 12 spaces available and workshops are free for all participants.

You must be able to attend all 3 sessions:

  • Friday October 19,  6 pm – 9 pm (3 hours)
  • Saturday October 20, 10 am - 6 pm (8 hours)
  • Sunday  October 21, 10 am – 6 pm  (8 hours) and Screening Your Film 7 pm - 8:30 p

Workshop held at Mastermind Studios, 954 Laval Crescent, Kamloops, BC

  •  You will learn the basics of lighting, sound, and editing with Final Cut X
  • You will direct your own film
  • No previous experience required
  • Lunches and snacks included


Filmmaking experts Director/Producer Jeff Chiba Stearns (Yellow Sticky Notes, One Big Hapa Family), Haida (First Nations) Director/Writer Patrick Shannon (Red Girl,  Dawn of the Red) and Director/Cinematographer Thomas-Isaac Came (L.O.O.K., The Takeover) will work with you to conceive, plan, shoot, and edit your own film in a weekend.
